Edguy continue their tour in support of their "Rocket Ride" album. 在新生代Power Metal團中包括Edguy，誰都不會否認Helloween〝七把鑰匙〞的強大影響力，在成軍初期Edguy有如得到Helloween真?zhèn)鞯谋憩F(xiàn)的確令人驚艷，如今Edguy已逐漸將各Metal大佬的精華融為自己的風(fēng)格，在發(fā)行了三張極為成功的專輯之后，尤其是第三作〝Theater Of Salvation〞里包辦大部分詞曲創(chuàng)作的主唱Tobias Sammet，在卸下Bass演奏工作之后開始專任主唱一職，使樂團整體感提升，在獲得耀眼亮麗的成績之后，使得Edguy逐漸登上金屬舞臺的最高峰。
代表德國Power Melodic/Speed Metal新希望的樂團Edguy，承襲了Helloween、Heaven Gate及Blind Guardian等德國speed metal大團的優(yōu)良血統(tǒng)，并徹底將德意志式的優(yōu)美旋律發(fā)揮到極致，而令人難以置信的是，此樂團竟是由一群平均年齡還不到十九歲的年輕小伙子所組成的(97年)，實在嚇人，看來speed的勢力又將再度肆虐！
97年所發(fā)表的<Kingdom Of Madness>為他們的第二張專輯，許多段落都讓我回想起Helloween的<Keeper of the Seven Keys>，甚至連主唱的聲音也很像Michel Kiske，專輯風(fēng)貌完全是優(yōu)美導(dǎo)向的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)speed metal，每首樂曲都是由優(yōu)美的雙吉他旋律所主導(dǎo)，而鼓手厚實的雙大鼓能力和吉他的搭配也表現(xiàn)出色，然而或許是年紀尚輕，這張專輯在編曲上稍嫌欠缺原創(chuàng)性，且技巧性還有些不足，不過整體順暢的編曲，加上悅耳的旋律鋪陳，仍然可稱得上是一部佳作。
專輯末尾長達18分鐘多的，彷佛名曲的再現(xiàn)！此曲充份表露了年輕的Edguy向大團們看齊的決心，同時也是將樂團實力完全發(fā)揮的最佳表現(xiàn)，專輯概念盡在于此。全曲由多個段落所組成，莊嚴的氣氛、略帶古典味的旋律與優(yōu)美和聲，都讓人十分動容，順暢的speed metal曲式一氣呵成，最精彩的部份在中段時，一陣陣陰冷的寒風(fēng)聲中，老人念著一段嘲諷的口白，接著一陣狂笑后，雙吉他再次奏起優(yōu)美的旋律，清脆的教堂鐘聲穿捘其間，使氣氛更顯凄涼！在一段吉他solo之后，沉重的keyboard襯底下，主唱低聲地吟唱著，接著更加哀美的雙吉他與鍵盤旋律將全曲帶上另一個高峰！真是每一個音符都強烈地撥動我的心弦，全曲在keyboard的烘托之下，成功地營造出中古帝國那種神圣而莊嚴的氣勢！
年輕人不愧是精力旺盛，98年Edguy繼續(xù)推出了第三張專輯<Vain Glory Opera>，相較于上一張專輯來說，明顯地可以聽出Edguy的進步！整體表現(xiàn)顯得成熟許多，樂曲不僅更heavy且更具Power，在技巧上亦精進不少，而優(yōu)美感則絲毫未減，并且加重了keyboard的運用，雖然少了長篇大作，但在編曲上則札實不少！同時Stratovarius的吉他手Timo Tolkki與Blind Gardian主唱Hansi Kursch在專輯中的跨刀演出，更增添了這張專輯的光彩，使專輯可說未演先轟動！

<How Many Miles#5:39>又是首爽爽歌，雙吉他快速riff，火力十足，中段的華麗鍵盤襯底加上雙吉他協(xié)奏solo讓人大呼過癮！

好美....人生又能有幾回這樣刻骨銘心的愛情呢？
<Out of Control#5:03>是專輯的注目曲，因為Timo與Hansi都在此曲出現(xiàn)，一開始又是交響式鍵盤的intro，接著，以宛如進行曲般的吉他刷扣，挾著強大的氣勢豋場！莊嚴的曲調(diào)讓人為之震懾，最精彩的當(dāng)然是中段時三把吉他的對飆加上狂踩的雙大鼓，果然是有明日大團的氣派！
接著第6首的同名曲<Vain Glory Opera#6:08>，是專輯中我相當(dāng)喜歡的一首，開頭以優(yōu)美的keyboard旋律帶入這首充滿詩意之曲，悠揚的旋律與高雅的氣質(zhì)，加上Edguy慣用的大合唱讓我深深陶醉，中段時吉他有精彩solo。
第9首<Tomorrow#3:52>，可說是專輯中最美的一曲，以濃烈而華麗的交響鍵盤做為伴奏，主唱幽幽地唱敘著黎明破曉之美與對明天的期待，但也對這充滿謊言與破壞的世界感到憂傷...
