簡介
史琪特出生在肯塔基州干嶺市（Dry Ridge），是家中七個子女中的長女。早年和貝蒂·杰克·戴維絲（Betty Jack Davis）組成戴維絲姐妹樂隊（The Davis Sisters）。1953年8月2日，貝蒂·杰克·戴維絲車禍去世后，史琪特·戴維絲走上了她個人的演唱道路。史琪特·戴維絲一生共獲得過5
次格林美提名，并在1964，1965，1967和1972年4次榮獲格萊美鄉(xiāng)村最佳女歌手大獎。2004年9月19日史琪特·戴維絲因乳腺癌在納什維爾去世，享年72歲。
史琪特·戴維絲1963年演唱的的《the end of the world》（世界末日）被評為當年最受歡迎的歌曲，被無數(shù)人翻唱過，但無人能及她原唱的魅力，這首歌也是她唯一的傳世之作。2009年的電影《美國情事》選擇《the end of the world》作為片尾曲，直抵人心的傷感。
