出生于加拿大，在美國密歇根成長。她最早的培訓(xùn)始于溜冰場，3歲開始就學(xué)習(xí)花樣滑冰。在轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)體操兩年之后，她把注意力轉(zhuǎn)移到舞蹈，她現(xiàn)在的事業(yè)之一。當(dāng)時她對 爵士舞和芭蕾很感興趣，作為舞蹈團的成員，Smith有機會參與國家級別的比賽。除了跳舞，Smith也是曾獲獎的歌手，模特和一名有抱負(fù)的演員，曾參與的廣告包括可口可樂，起亞汽車，麥當(dāng)勞等，并在電視節(jié)目中出演 小角色，如Happy Family, The Young and the Restless等。2007年，Smith參加了the Pussycat dolls的選拔賽。
