哈里·摩根雖算不上影視界大腕，但是好萊塢知名的配角明星。他上大學時迷上戲劇表演，畢業(yè)后曾投身紐約百老匯，之后前往洛杉磯好萊塢發(fā)展。1942年他首次在電影中亮相，先后在《正午》《龍城風云》和《天下父母心》等100多部影片中出演眾多配角。

不過，令摩根家喻戶曉的還是他在美國上世紀70年代著名軍旅電視系列喜劇《陸軍野戰(zhàn)醫(yī)院》中塑造的軍官形象和他在《洛城警探》中飾演的警探一角。

1980年，摩根獲得美國電視艾美獎喜劇類最佳配角獎。2006年，位于俄克拉何馬州的美國國家牛仔和西部遺產(chǎn)博物館將他錄入西部片演員名人堂。
