逝世于美國印第安那州
1936年登上銀幕，后表演電影同時也參加戲劇演出，在事業(yè)前景一片大好的情況下，卻因酗酒，常常犯法，被迫在1942年息影，40年代的許多時光在精神病院渡過，50年代末才開始恢復(fù)健康。
代表作：《獨(dú)家新聞》、《落潮》、《流動的金子》等。
