為日本國立岐阜大學(xué)博士,并當(dāng)選為中國植物學(xué)會理事、中國野生植物保護(hù)協(xié)會民族植物學(xué)專業(yè)委員會主任、中國植物學(xué)會民族植物學(xué)分會副理事長、中國環(huán)境學(xué)會生態(tài)與自然保護(hù)分會副理事長、中國生態(tài)學(xué)會民族生態(tài)專業(yè)委員會副主任委員、北京生態(tài)學(xué)學(xué)會常務(wù)理事、國際民族生物學(xué)會理事等職,曾任國家重大科學(xué)工程中國西南野生生物種質(zhì)資源庫總工程師、云南省農(nóng)業(yè)廳廳長助理。應(yīng)邀擔(dān)任Journal of Ethnobiology and Ethnomedicine副主編、Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution和Archives of Pharmacal Research等SCI期刊編委,以及《生物多樣性》等5份國內(nèi)核心期刊編委。

研究方向
從事民族植物學(xué)、民族藥物學(xué)和植物化學(xué)、生物多樣性、植物種質(zhì)資源、植物資源學(xué)、民族生態(tài)學(xué)、植物系統(tǒng)分類學(xué)等方面的基礎(chǔ)和應(yīng)用研究。
重點領(lǐng)域包括:①民族植物學(xué)調(diào)查和編目:搶救性地收集我國重要的傳統(tǒng)植物學(xué)知識,進(jìn)行規(guī)范化的調(diào)查、編目和數(shù)字化。②傳統(tǒng)植物學(xué)知識的評價:對重要的傳統(tǒng)植物學(xué)知識、傳統(tǒng)遺傳資源進(jìn)行評價,探討人文因素對生物多樣性的影響。③民族藥種質(zhì)資源及其藥效物質(zhì)基礎(chǔ)研究:對重要民族藥種質(zhì)資源進(jìn)行評估,探索不同環(huán)境因子、不同管理方式影響生物活性物質(zhì)形成的機制。

研究成果
發(fā)表論文373篇,其中在SCI源刊發(fā)表169篇(含一區(qū)論文11篇)、SSCI源刊3篇;出版專著19部(冊)。發(fā)現(xiàn)并發(fā)表植物新種26個。獲得專利17項,其中4項已轉(zhuǎn)讓。在國際和全國的大型學(xué)術(shù)會議上作為大會特邀報告人作主旨報告8次。
已指導(dǎo)114名研究生畢業(yè)并獲得學(xué)位,其中博士22名,包括1名美國留學(xué)生和1名韓國留學(xué)生。目前指導(dǎo)博士生8名、碩士生5名。
