    畢業(yè)于南京工學(xué)院(現(xiàn)東南大學(xué))無線電工程系,1984年本科畢業(yè),1987年研究生畢業(yè)。1991年于美國肯塔基大學(xué)生物醫(yī)學(xué)工程系/Wenner-Gren宇航實(shí)驗(yàn)室獲生物醫(yī)學(xué)工程碩士學(xué)位,1995年于肯塔基大學(xué)電氣與計(jì)算機(jī)工程系獲電子與計(jì)算機(jī)(Electrical and Computer Engineering)博士學(xué)位。1995年加入美國摩托羅拉現(xiàn)代無線技術(shù)研究中心(Motorola Advanced Radio Technology, Arlington Heights,Illinois)任高級(jí)研究員,2003年至2015年,在美國高通研究中心(Qualcomm Research,San Diego,California)任高級(jí)主管研究員,期間(2009年)受聘為南京理工大學(xué)客座教授、博士生導(dǎo)師。2015年9月,加入東南大學(xué)移動(dòng)通信國家重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室,任特聘教授(全職)、博士生導(dǎo)師。


    個(gè)人簡介

    汪茂教授從1995年加入美國摩托羅拉無線技術(shù)研究中心起,一直從事現(xiàn)代無線通信理論研究及技術(shù)開發(fā)。在摩托羅拉無線技術(shù)研究中心期間參與了CDMA蜂窩系統(tǒng)(2G IS-95、3G WCDMA)設(shè)計(jì),共獲二十項(xiàng)美國專利,三次獲重大科技發(fā)明獎(jiǎng)和杰出成就獎(jiǎng)(Distinguished Achievement),被授予杰出科技發(fā)明家榮譽(yù)稱號(hào)(Distinguished Innovator)。加入高通研究中心后,汪教授投入了MediaFLO多媒體廣播系統(tǒng)的研制,是該系統(tǒng)的主要貢獻(xiàn)者,成功地將此系統(tǒng)轉(zhuǎn)化為 TIA1099 Terrestrial Multimedia Multicast國際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。其后又承擔(dān)了繼 CDMA后高通自行設(shè)計(jì)的 OFDMA蜂窩系統(tǒng)研發(fā),并將這個(gè)系統(tǒng)成功地轉(zhuǎn)化為 TIA/3GPP2 Ultra Mobile Broadband Air Interface 及 IEEE 802.20 Mobile Broadband Wireless Access 兩個(gè)國際標(biāo)準(zhǔn),獲得近四十項(xiàng)相關(guān)美國專利,且在IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Communications,IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing等期刊發(fā)表十余篇相關(guān)論文。曾榮獲 TIA/3GPP2 Ultra Mobile Broadband Air Interface獎(jiǎng)、3GPP2 Ultra Mobile Broadband 成果獎(jiǎng)。之后,汪教授致力于4G LTE技術(shù)的研發(fā),獲得二十多項(xiàng)美國專利。汪教授自受聘東南大學(xué)后即帶領(lǐng)由博士生和碩士生組成的團(tuán)隊(duì)開始下一代(5G)通信技術(shù)研究,成功主持了能源物聯(lián)網(wǎng)無線通信系統(tǒng)設(shè)計(jì)及原型開發(fā)項(xiàng)目,圓滿完成了項(xiàng)目的總體設(shè)計(jì)。現(xiàn)正主持國家自然基金以及IALA VDES系統(tǒng)研究項(xiàng)目。汪茂教授在IEEE Transactions/Magazine等國際通信領(lǐng)域期刊發(fā)表論文三十余篇,擁有九十多項(xiàng)美國專利。
