段火元，男，武漢大學數(shù)學與統(tǒng)計學院教授教授、博士生導師。

研究方向：偏微分方程數(shù)值解、有限元方法、多重網(wǎng)格算法、自適應(yīng)算法、預處理迭代算法；隨機微分方程的數(shù)值方法及應(yīng)用；圖像處理的數(shù)值方法；反問題數(shù)值方法。

在國內(nèi)外學術(shù)期刊發(fā)表學術(shù)論文近50篇，包括國際著名期刊如SIAM Journal On Numerical Analysis，Mathematics of Computation，Numerische Mathematik，Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering，Journal of Computational Physics，IMA Journal of Numerical Analysis 等。
