作為中國醫(yī)療隊的一員，我在桑給巴爾這片美麗的土地上已經工作中了一年有余。今天我很高興來參加這次英語競賽，更讓我感到榮幸的是能借這個機會在這里說說我非常想對大家說的話。
首先，我想對各位桑給巴爾朋友們說，我愛桑給巴爾！Mimi nakupenda Zanzibar!
我還想說，親愛的朋友，感謝你們！
感謝你們對我們的信任和尊重！從到達這個群島的第一天起，我就感受到了你們對我們醫(yī)療隊員們的友好感情。在此特別需要提到的是尊敬的Ali Mohamed Shein總統(tǒng)給我們的禮遇！
我也要感謝你們對我們工作的支持和幫助！事實上，在醫(yī)療工作中，我尤其是在語言交流方面離不開各位staff。這一年來的工作經歷讓我意識到，要服務好桑給巴爾人民，僅僅掌握好英語是不夠的。雖然這是英語競賽，但我還是想說，我要學習更多的斯瓦西里語！Mimi nataka kusoma zaidi Kiswahili!
在座的有不少中國同胞，能夠與你們相聚在這和祖國遠隔重洋的桑給巴爾，是大家的緣分！
這里有孔子課堂的老師們。我們一直記著你們?yōu)槲覀冎v授的斯瓦西里課程；
這里有中資公司的員工們。是你們讓我們在桑給巴爾的生活更加輕松舒適——每當我們的設備發(fā)生故障時，你們總是派人上門為我們修理；每當我們去你們那里登門拜訪，你們總是用中國風味美食對我們熱情招待。我來自奔巴醫(yī)療分隊，在此我一定要特別提到中鐵建工集團——我每天住的屋子都是你們替我們蓋的！
這里有尊敬的陳綺曼總領事和中國駐桑給巴爾總領館的外交官們。感謝你們長期以來對我們的關心！在此，我不得不說起我們家屬來訪時那段令人難忘的經歷。那會兒，家屬們的行李被航空公司耽誤了。當我們陷入窘境時，卻收到了你們雪中送炭的捐贈——一大批各式各樣的衣物，使我們得解燃眉之急。我兒子就是穿著張領孩子的T恤和牛仔褲去的塞倫蓋蒂。衷心地感謝你們！
正如陳總領所說，“桑島一家親”，是你們各位讓我們感受到華人在桑給巴爾就像生活在一個大家庭！
然后，我想對今天不在場的遠在中國的家人們說說心里話。我相信，即便你們在萬里之外也能夠聽得到我的心聲！
出國前，不少人說當我們選擇了參加援非工作，我們就是選擇了兩年艱苦的生活。實際上，這對于我自己來說，也就是換了個工作環(huán)境。但是對于你們來說，卻增加了很大的責任和負擔�？梢哉f，沒有你們的理解和支持，我不可能完成這兩年在桑給巴爾的工作。
是的，每當我在手機里聽說家里還是那么的井井有條；在電腦屏幕上看到孩子一天天的茁壯成長，老人的身體依然充滿活力……我知道你們?yōu)檫@一切都付出了加倍的辛勞。對此，我無法用語言來表達自己對你們的感激和思念之情。特別讓我深感愧疚的是，當你們需要我的時候，我甚至不能陪伴在你們身旁。然而，一年過后，當我回味自己這段時期的心路歷程，我不禁要問，難道牽掛僅僅意味著痛苦嗎？不！從離家到現在，我漸漸明白一個簡單的真理——當你在心底里有人可以為之苦苦牽掛，那才是真正的幸福！
親愛的朋友們，我還將在桑給巴爾工作一年時間。我將繼續(xù)盡我所能竭誠為大家服務。我相信，即便在我回國之后，我仍然會非常想念你們。并且，這兩年在桑給巴爾的經歷必將成為我一生中最珍貴的記憶！

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen!
As a member of China Medical Team, I have been working in this beautiful island of Zanzibar for more than one year now. Today, I’m grateful to be here with you, my friends, for participating in this English competition. Moreover, I’m grateful for having this chance to say something I really want to say to you!
First, I’d like to tell you, my Zanzibar friends, I love Zanzibar! Mimi nakupenda Zanzibar!
My dear friends, you have fresh air, rich products, magnificent coral reefs and the breathtaking beautiful ocean. The Zanzibar people are zealous, kindhearted, pure and simple. These are the unique advantages of Zanzibar. It is my honor to work here together with you during these two years! And I’m sure, with your efforts, there will be a brilliant future of this beautiful archipelago!
And I’d like to express my appreciation to my Zanzibar friends as well.
Thank you for your trust and respect! Actually, I can feel the profound friendship to the whole team even from the first day I arrived in Zanzibar last June. And I’d like to make a special mention of the courteous reception to us by the Honorable President Doctor Ali Mohamed Shein!
Thank you for your support and help! Actually, I cannot work without the assistance of the local staff, for I need Swahili translation. Through the experience of the past year, I have realized that it is difficult to serve the Zanzibari people perfectly if I can only speak English. Although this is an English competition, I still want to say, “I shall learn more Swahili! Mimi nataka kusoma zaidi Kiswahili!”
Today, there are also many Chinese compatriots here. It is amazing to meet you here in Zanzibar, which is across the great ocean from our motherland!
Here there are teachers of the Confucian Class. We will always remember the Swahili lessons you taught us.
Here there is staff from Chinese companies. You have made our life in Zanzibar easier and more comfortable --- whenever there is problem of our equipment, you send technicians to our house to help us; whenever we visit your house, you welcome us with delicious Chinese cuisine. I come from Abdulla Mzee Hospital of Pemba, what’s more, I have to mention Chinese Railway Construction Engineering Group --- every day I live in the house you built for us!
Here there are Honorable Consul General Mrs. Chen Qiman and diplomats from Chinese Consulate General. Thank you for always taking care of us! Especially, we will never forget the experience when our families came to visit Tanzania. These days, they faced great trouble, because their luggage was delayed by the airline company. Then we accepted precious donations from you --- all kinds of clothes! Actually, during the whole journey to Serengeti, my son was wearing the T-shirts and jeans of the same-age child of Consul Zhang. Thanks a lot!
As Consul General Chen said, “桑島一家親, whole Zanzibar, one family”, you have really made us feel like living in a big family with you in Zanzibar!
And then I’d like to speak to my own family faraway in China. Although you are not here with us today, I’m sure you can hear the voice from the bottom of my heart.
Many people said when we chose to be a volunteer working in Africa, we chose a tough life in these two years. To me, actually, it only means the changing of working conditions and environment. But to you, it means more responsibilities and more efforts. Indeed, I cannot fulfill my two-year work in Zanzibar without your kind understanding and support.
I hear in my mobile phone that everything is still in proper order with my family; I see through my computer screen that my lovely child is growing up day by day, mum still looks healthy and vigorous … I can feel how much you have paid for all these; I cannot express my deep gratitude to all of you. Sometimes I feel very sorry for I cannot even stay beside you when you need me. But is it only bitter and painful when missing someone terribly? No! Now, after leaving you for one year, I gradually realized a simple truth: it is real felicity when you have someone missing in the bottom of your heart. 當你在心底里有人可以為之苦苦牽掛，那才是真正的幸福！
There is one more year for me to stay in Zanzibar. I will continue do my best to serve you, my dear friends. I believe even after I return to my homeland, I will still miss you a lot. And this special experience in these two years will be a precious memory kept in my mind forever!
