　　河北滄州鹽山人, 是知名凍土及冰緣學(xué)專家。

　　學(xué)士： 1983 年， 河北地質(zhì)學(xué)院水文地質(zhì)和工程地質(zhì)學(xué).

　　碩士： 1986 年， 中國(guó)科學(xué)院蘭州冰川凍土研究所自然地理學(xué)。

　　博士： 1993年， 加拿大渥太華大學(xué) （University of Ottawa) 地質(zhì)系凍土學(xué)。

　　博士后研究： 1993 - 1995 年在加拿大拉瓦爾大學(xué) (Laval University) 北方研究中心。

　　現(xiàn)在加拿大渥太華生活和工作。
