Sun Shicheng, born in Jimo, Qingdao in 1980, is a contemporary Chinese painter. Graduated from Shandong University of Art & Design, he was awarded the Bachelor Degree of Arts. With the extreme enthusiasm, he learnt Calligraphy from Shang Kuiyuan when he was a child, and majored in painting in the university under the instruction of the professors Guo Zhiguang, Pan Lusheng, Yu Xinsheng, Cai Yushui, Lei Jiamin, Han Qingsheng, Xie Weichu, Lu Honggang, Sun Minzeng and so on. Learnt from Xu Qingteng, Badashanren (Zhu Da), Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi, Pan Tianshou and Li Kuchan, etc., he continued the Chinese traditional freehand brushwork of flowers and birds and at the same time developed innovation, forming a fresh, natural, novel and unusual style. Through years of learning and creating, he integrated some excellent ideas and techniques of painting into his works, which presented his pure pastoral complex and vibrant inner world.
