原名Michaila Rocha，于1988年9月10號出生于Richmond。
在搬到魁北克後母親開始用Coco這個暱稱叫她，后來就干脆改名為Coco Rocha。
4歲就一直接受舞蹈的訓練，主要是愛爾蘭舞，但也學了3年芭蕾舞2年爵士舞1年Hip Hop，完全沒想到會成為model，一切的轉變發(fā)生在她14歲那年。
Charles Stauart在溫哥華的愛爾蘭舞蹈比賽見到Coco後就極力游說她進入這行，當時Coco與朋友并不把Charles說的話當真，後來經過幾次的游說，在隔年Coco終於答應放手一試.
但在進軍紐約之前，Coco除了須應付學業(yè)外，還必須學習關於時尚的事物，因為她連Anna Wintour是誰都不曉得。
還好在她身邊的好友幫她上了"時尚速成課"後，她終於擺脫fashion-illiterate的稱號。
此時的Coco已經準備就緒，就等待機會的來臨，而這個機會就發(fā)生在她從Superme更換東家到Elite。
當時Coco正在為New York Fashion Week尋求走秀機會。攝影大師Steven Meisel相中了她并在NYFW前就定下她為VOGUE Itaila拍攝，而回到伸展臺她也得到Anna Sui及Marc Jacobs等的青睞，據傳這也是經過Steven Meisel的指點，Coco的模特兒生涯就此開始一帆風順。
身為VOGUE點名超模接班人的她對自己模特兒事業(yè)有如此見解:
" I hope modeling hasnu2019t changed me in the sense that I think more of myself,
or better of myself,but I am more confident with who I am and what I can do with my life."
