樂(lè)隊(duì)風(fēng)格
Progressive/Power Metal 前衛(wèi)金屬樂(lè)壇里充斥著太多的樂(lè)隊(duì)，他們以結(jié)構(gòu)繁復(fù)，曲目冗長(zhǎng)而自以為出色，實(shí)際上一無(wú)是處。音樂(lè)被當(dāng)成了一種顯示的手段，除非聽(tīng)者是樂(lè)手本人，否則只會(huì)在聆聽(tīng)時(shí)感到乏味而了無(wú)生趣。瑞典的Evergrey是其中的另類。他們?cè)谥鞒猅om S. Englund的帶領(lǐng)下，以發(fā)人深省的歌詞，獨(dú)特的歌曲結(jié)構(gòu)，當(dāng)然還有出類拔萃的音樂(lè)技巧在這個(gè)領(lǐng)域拓展出了自己的一片天地。Englund的嗓音變化多端，從迷人的凈嗓到粗糙強(qiáng)力的正宗金屬之音都運(yùn)用的游刃有余。樂(lè)隊(duì)的風(fēng)格融和了旋律化的前衛(wèi)金屬和傳統(tǒng)金屬，并恰到好處的加入了一些優(yōu)美的民謠曲風(fēng)，可以說(shuō)他們完全創(chuàng)立了屬于自己的風(fēng)格，其獨(dú)特的幽暗冰冷的氣質(zhì)在金屬界可謂獨(dú)樹(shù)一幟。
第一張專輯《The Dark Discovery》于1998年由Gothenburg Noiseworks發(fā)行，翌年發(fā)行第二張專輯《Solitude Dominance Tragedy》，這兩張作品為他們奠定了良好的基礎(chǔ)。2000年更換東家改遷德國(guó)前衛(wèi)金屬名廠Inside Out，2001年發(fā)行《In Search For Truth》，知名度漸行遠(yuǎn)播，2003年發(fā)表概念專輯《Recreation Day》，躋身為前衛(wèi)金屬一線團(tuán)體。
