雷蒙·威廉斯，（1921-1988）20世紀(jì)中葉英語世界最重要的馬克思主義文化批評(píng)家，文化研究的重要奠基人之一。出生于威爾士鄉(xiāng)間的工人階級(jí)家庭，畢業(yè)于劍橋的三一學(xué)院。戰(zhàn)后至1961年曾任教于牛津大學(xué)的成人教育班，1974年起，在劍橋大學(xué)耶穌學(xué)院擔(dān)任戲劇講座教授，直至去世。被譽(yù)為“戰(zhàn)后英國(guó)最重要的社會(huì)主義思想家、知識(shí)分子和文化行動(dòng)主義者”。 雷蒙·威廉斯著作宏富，主要有：《文化與社會(huì)，1780-1950》、《漫長(zhǎng)的革命》（1961）、《鄉(xiāng)村與城市》（1973）、《電視：科技與文化形式》（1974）、《關(guān)鍵詞》（1976）、《馬克思主義與文學(xué)》（1977）、《寫作、文化與政治》（1989）等。
人物生平
作為英國(guó)著名的文化理論家和馬克思主義思想家，在其一生中，雷蒙·威廉斯廣泛研究了文學(xué)藝術(shù)、政治、大眾傳媒、哲學(xué)、歷史等諸多領(lǐng)域的理論和現(xiàn)實(shí)問題，特別是對(duì)社會(huì)主義運(yùn)動(dòng)和馬克思主義思潮進(jìn)行了獨(dú)具匠心的研究。并提出了著名的“文化唯物主義”的理論，對(duì)當(dāng)代馬克思主義和文化研究產(chǎn)生了極為重要的影響。
