出生地：特倫特河畔斯多克（Stoke-on-Trent）
父母：Mavis (née Leese)、Edward Rawlins
勞林思曾在兩所獨(dú)立學(xué)院接受教育：溫徹斯特公學(xué)（The Dragon School in Oxford）、湯布里奇中學(xué)（位于肯特郡），之后他乘坐火車到曼徹斯特大學(xué)進(jìn)修表演專業(yè)。
職業(yè)生涯
勞林思已經(jīng)出演了包括《威爾伯想自殺》（Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself）在內(nèi)的幾部電影，還曾在《哈利·波特》系列電影中擔(dān)任配角——哈利的父親詹姆·波特（James Potter）。也曾在舞臺(tái)劇《她赤裸的肌膚》（Her Naked Skin，國家大劇院，2008）。勞林思在1989年的電視連續(xù)劇《姜樹》（The Ginger Tree）中飾演Samantha Bond的對門鄰居Richard Collingsworth。他還出演了于1989年圣誕節(jié)播出的電視劇《黑衣女人》（The Woman in Black）。
