曾任聯(lián)合國(guó)世界糧農(nóng)組織、世界衛(wèi)生組織、環(huán)境開(kāi)發(fā)屬的專家成員,著有《中國(guó)動(dòng)物志·雙志月·蚊科》(上、下卷)、《蚊蟲(chóng)綜合治理》等著作。提出我國(guó)以蚊子為代表的衛(wèi)生害蟲(chóng)綜合治理理論等,主講農(nóng)藥環(huán)境毒理學(xué)、博士生高級(jí)昆蟲(chóng)學(xué)Seminar等多門(mén)本科生和研究生課程。多年來(lái)一直從事害蟲(chóng)抗藥性、農(nóng)藥環(huán)境毒理學(xué)、化學(xué)防治與生物防治協(xié)調(diào)、化學(xué)防治與作物抗蟲(chóng)品種協(xié)調(diào)以及農(nóng)藥新靶標(biāo)和新劑型的研究。
多次得到國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金的資助,并主持或參加了國(guó)家“六五”、“七五”、“八五”和“九五”農(nóng)業(yè)主要病蟲(chóng)害抗藥性監(jiān)測(cè)與治理攻關(guān)項(xiàng)目以及國(guó)家重大基礎(chǔ)研究(973項(xiàng)目),發(fā)表有關(guān)論文和著作60余篇(部)。
在科學(xué)研究中,重視理論聯(lián)系實(shí)際,以農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)上的重要害蟲(chóng)為對(duì)象,圍繞害蟲(chóng)抗藥性等重要問(wèn)題,進(jìn)行毒理學(xué)、生物化學(xué)和生態(tài)學(xué)等研究,并在此基礎(chǔ)上深入到害蟲(chóng)抗藥性監(jiān)控和治理對(duì)策及技術(shù)方法的研究以及農(nóng)藥新靶標(biāo)的研究,以求在學(xué)科水平和技術(shù)水平上取得不斷進(jìn)展。
