因作品《虎豹小霸王》(1970)的攝影師，獲得奧斯卡最佳攝影獎(jiǎng)。因作品《美國(guó)麗人》 (2000)的攝影師，獲得奧斯卡最佳攝影獎(jiǎng)。因作品《毀滅之路》 (2003)的攝影師，獲得奧斯卡最佳攝影獎(jiǎng)。
2003年1月4日，美國(guó)攝像師康拉德·霍爾去世，終年76歲。他一生曾9次獲奧斯卡攝像獎(jiǎng)提名，三次獲獎(jiǎng)，其中包括他于1999年執(zhí)鏡的《美國(guó)麗人》。
據(jù)美聯(lián)社報(bào)道，霍爾的妻子蘇珊在加州洛杉磯對(duì)新聞界說，霍爾死于膀胱癌引起的并發(fā)癥。
美國(guó)電影界公認(rèn)霍爾是用光方面的專家，在50多年的攝影生涯中他拍了30多部電影。美國(guó)20世紀(jì)�？怂构局破魅巍�(dǎo)演扎納克表示，霍爾的每一部電影都非常美，非常有想象力。扎納克說，霍爾攝像不以速度快聞名，但是他以難以置信的天才而聞名。
霍爾生前曾獲得很多榮譽(yù)，其中包括1994年美國(guó)攝像協(xié)會(huì)的終身成就獎(jiǎng)。他1993年作為柯達(dá)攝影師在加州大學(xué)戲劇、電影和電視學(xué)院任教。
霍爾的父親是著名的小說家、《颶風(fēng)》的作者之一�；魻柋救俗畛醣敬蛩阕鲇浾撸谀霞又荽髮W(xué)念書時(shí)發(fā)現(xiàn)自己在寫作方面并無任何天賦，百無聊賴之時(shí)翻課程表，發(fā)現(xiàn)了電影專業(yè)。
