人物經(jīng)歷
1982年六月畢業(yè)于華中師范大學生物系。
1982—1990于華中農(nóng)業(yè)大學基礎部工作，其間作為在職研究生于武漢大學獲碩士學位。
1991—1994于武漢大學獲博士學位并留校工作。曾在荷蘭、意大利、德國等從事博士后研究或合作科研。1999年回國，現(xiàn)任武漢大學植物發(fā)育生物學教 授，博士生導師，植物生殖發(fā)育與生殖工程研究室主任，植物發(fā)育生物學教育部重點實驗室副主任，中國細胞生物學會理事，中國細胞生物學會信號轉(zhuǎn)導專業(yè)委員會 副主任等職。
研究方向
被子植物生殖發(fā)育生物學和生殖細胞工程
多年來一直致力于被子植物受精與胚胎發(fā)生的研究。
社會兼職
中國細胞生物學會資深理事，中國植物學會植物結(jié)構與生殖生物學專業(yè)委員會副主任，湖北省細胞生物學會副理事長等職。兼任“植物科學學報”副主編，“PLoS ONE”，“Journal of Integrative Plant Biology”，“Plant Science and Molecular Breeding”， “Turkish Journal of Botany”，“Chinese Science Bulletin” and “中國細胞生物學報” 等雜志編委。
研究領域
1. 被子植物受精的分子機制：主要探討雄配子體與雌蕊的相互作用機制；配子發(fā)育與特化的分子機制；受精過程中配子的相互作用。
2. 被子植物早期胚胎發(fā)生分子機制：胚胎發(fā)生啟動的分子機制；胚胎發(fā)生中細胞命運決定；胚胎發(fā)生中細胞程序性死亡。

榮譽表彰
部級優(yōu)秀教材一等獎；部級科技進步三等獎；并獲教育部“資助優(yōu)秀年輕教師基金”、 “跨世紀人才”培養(yǎng)計劃基金，及國家自然科學基金委“杰出青年基金”。先后參加或主持過科研項目二十余項，包括國家自然科學基金重大項目、重點項目、歐盟國際合作項目、973項目等。發(fā)表論文六十余篇。
