劉選明，湖南邵陽(yáng)人，1963年生，教授，博士生導(dǎo)師。1986年于湖南師范大學(xué)獲理學(xué)學(xué)士學(xué)位，1989年與1995年于湖南農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)分別獲理學(xué)碩士和博士學(xué)位，1998年與2000年分別在湖南農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)和中國(guó)科學(xué)院北京植物研究所完成博士后研究和高級(jí)訪問(wèn)研究。工作以來(lái)先后到美國(guó)加州大學(xué)洛杉磯分校和菲律賓國(guó)際水稻研究所進(jìn)行高級(jí)訪問(wèn)研究和學(xué)習(xí)。1989年至2000年在湖南農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)先后任助教、講師、副教授、教授與博士生導(dǎo)師，以及植物教研室主任、生物技術(shù)系主任和理學(xué)院副院長(zhǎng)。2001年調(diào)至湖南大學(xué)任教授、博士生導(dǎo)師，先后任生命科學(xué)與技術(shù)研究院常務(wù)副院長(zhǎng)、生命科學(xué)中心主任、生物能源與材料研究中心副主任和生物學(xué)院副院長(zhǎng)。湖南農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)兼職教授，博士生導(dǎo)師。

研究方向：

植物功能基因組學(xué)、植物發(fā)育分子生物學(xué)、生化分析、細(xì)胞與基因工程技術(shù)、生物質(zhì)再生能源等。

近年來(lái)主持與參加國(guó)家重大專項(xiàng)課題2項(xiàng)，國(guó)家863項(xiàng)目2項(xiàng)，國(guó)際合作重大項(xiàng)目1項(xiàng)，國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金2項(xiàng)以及省部級(jí)重點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目3項(xiàng)，一般項(xiàng)目多項(xiàng)。

1996年獲得湖南省首屆中青年科學(xué)基金（杰出青年基金），1998年遴選為湖南省跨世紀(jì)科學(xué)與技術(shù)學(xué)科帶頭人，1999年被遴選為國(guó)家“百千萬(wàn)人才工程”國(guó)家級(jí)人選，2004年評(píng)為享受國(guó)務(wù)院政府特殊津貼專家，2005年任全國(guó)生物科學(xué)與生物工程教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會(huì)委員，2009年聘為湖南省政府學(xué)位委員會(huì)第四屆學(xué)科評(píng)議組人員。此外，1999年起擔(dān)任湖南省植物學(xué)會(huì)副理事長(zhǎng)，2009年擔(dān)任湖南省生物化學(xué)與分子生物學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)理事。兼任農(nóng)業(yè)部麻類遺傳育種與微生物工程重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室、國(guó)家林業(yè)局森林栽培與育種重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室、湖南省中藥新藥研究與開(kāi)發(fā)等多個(gè)重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室學(xué)術(shù)委員。

獲得中國(guó)植物學(xué)會(huì)青年科學(xué)獎(jiǎng)1項(xiàng)，省部級(jí)科技進(jìn)步獎(jiǎng)3項(xiàng)，各類教學(xué)成果獎(jiǎng)2項(xiàng)，申請(qǐng)國(guó)家發(fā)明專利8項(xiàng)，授權(quán)4項(xiàng)，在PNAS，Plant Cell，Plant Physiology，Plant Cell Report，Planta，Biosensors and Bioelectronics,中國(guó)科學(xué)和科學(xué)通報(bào)等國(guó)內(nèi)外學(xué)術(shù)刊物共發(fā)表論文100余篇。
