主要從事干細(xì)胞治療，人胚胎干細(xì)胞的分化，組織工程，腫瘤干細(xì)胞及分子影像學(xué)的研究，在國際上率先應(yīng)用胚胎干細(xì)胞來源的內(nèi)皮細(xì)胞用于缺血性心臟病的治療。同時，應(yīng)用納米脂質(zhì)體聯(lián)合分子影像技術(shù)靶向腫瘤干細(xì)胞的研究也得到了較高的評價。包括在Nature Methods, Circulation, J Am Coll Cardiol, Stem Cells, Caner Res，Stroke, Biomaterials等雜志發(fā)表論文40余篇，其中SCI論文36篇，被引用超過800次。

參與了3部專著的撰寫，申請了2項發(fā)明專利。研究工作先后獲得多項獎勵，包括：2007年美國血管生物學(xué)學(xué)會優(yōu)秀青年科學(xué)家獎、2008年美國心臟病學(xué)會優(yōu)秀青年科學(xué)家獎、2009年斯坦福大學(xué)心血管研究所優(yōu)秀青年科學(xué)家獎、Mitzi and William Blahd, MD 啟動基金第一名等。

經(jīng)費：￥4,620,000，為研究骨干，經(jīng)費來源：科技部。研究課題“多潛能干細(xì)胞特異性誘導(dǎo)分化及其表觀遺傳學(xué)調(diào)控在治療糖尿病中的應(yīng)用基礎(chǔ)研究”，子課題“在體胰島組織和腎上皮組織干細(xì)胞歸巢、復(fù)制、分化的示蹤新技術(shù)與新方法”。研究內(nèi)容: 建立 MSC和ESC在小動物的分子影像監(jiān)測技術(shù)，利用分子影像技術(shù)，評價 MSC和ESC在糖尿病和腎功能衰竭中的作用; 建立大動物模型，引進(jìn) PET，MRI等分子影像技術(shù)，監(jiān)測其在大動物體內(nèi)功能的改變。
