尼爾·賽門出生于紐約市布朗克斯，他的劇作不僅在百老匯史上膾炙人口，同樣也風(fēng)靡全球。在六零年代中期到八零年代中期，賽門獲得了極大的名聲與財富。雖說最初是喜劇作家，他的作品，尤其是《尤金三部曲》（Eugene Trilogy）與《陽光少年》（The Sunshine Boys），深刻省思了二十世紀(jì)猶太美國人的生命經(jīng)驗。
