比爾·威瑟斯，1938年7月4日出生在西維吉尼亞州的煤礦小鎮(zhèn)斯拉布佛克，是活躍于1970年至1985年的美國創(chuàng)作歌手與音樂家。他錄制了數(shù)首熱門單曲，包括《Lean on Me》《Ain’t No Sunshine》《Use Me》《Just the Two of Us》《Lovely Day》和《Grandma’s Hands》。威瑟斯曾三度獲得過格萊美獎(jiǎng)，他的人生曾在2009年被拍成紀(jì)錄片《Still Bill》，并于2015年由史提夫·汪達(dá)擔(dān)任引言人，入選搖滾名人堂。

2020年3月30日，比爾·威瑟斯在洛杉磯因心臟并發(fā)癥去世，享年81歲。
