嚴幼芳，女，1979年6月生，物理海洋學博士，中國科學院南海海洋研究所副研究員。2001年7月畢業(yè)于淮北師范大學物理系，獲學士學位；同年9月進入中國科學院南海海洋研究所攻讀碩士、博士學位，2006年7月獲博士學位；2006年7月至今，在中國科學院南海海洋研究所工作，主要從事海洋熱力學/上層海洋熱鹽結構變異研究。分別于2011年、2012年到香港城市大學、美國佛羅里達州立大學進行訪問。近年來，主持了國家自然科學基金：“海洋熱力學熵的時-空結構研究（40706009）”，“南海上層熱含量年際變化的南北差異及其與ENSO的關聯(lián)（41276025）”，并參加國家重點基礎研究計劃973項目"基于全球實時海洋觀測計劃（Argo）的上層海洋結構、變異及預測研究"及“南海海氣相互作用與海洋環(huán)流和渦旋演變規(guī)律”等多項研究。
