Maria很早就開始了她的歌唱事業(yè)。在她十歲的時(shí)候，她已經(jīng)在她的家鄉(xiāng)小鎮(zhèn)Vennesla參加了當(dāng)?shù)氐囊魳窌?huì)。在那之后，Maria花了一段時(shí)間形成自己獨(dú)特的演唱風(fēng)格。

2003年3月，Maria Arredondo發(fā)布了她的第一張同名專輯。請(qǐng)來(lái)了諸如Jonas von Der Burg, Espen Lind 這樣的大牌制作人。作曲者水準(zhǔn)也是很高，Christian Ingebrigtsen，Silje Nergaard等都為她操刀動(dòng)筆。這張專輯一出世，就在挪威最大的報(bào)紙“VG”的音樂版上獲得了最高的評(píng)價(jià)，它的銷量是白金。第一首單曲“Can let go”于2002年5月推出，與Christian Ingebrigtsen合唱的“In love with an angel”空降冠軍，同樣是白金銷量。Maria難以置信的成功使她在當(dāng)時(shí)備受關(guān)注，被認(rèn)為有潛力成為新的“挪威天后”。而另一首單曲“A thousand nights”也很受歡迎。瑪麗亞的聲線非常好，性感但不做作，有力但不炫耀，明亮但不過(guò)分照人。

2004年11月，瑪麗亞發(fā)布了她的第二張專輯《Not going under》，作為她第一張有MV的專輯。其中的“Burning”這首歌被廣泛傳播，是非常受歡迎的歌曲！誘惑力，愛情，妖嬈的盤繞讓人無(wú)法拒絕。另一首歌“Cross Every River”，MTV拍得可愛之至。

2005年圣誕之際，瑪麗亞發(fā)布了第三張專輯《Min Jul》。

2007年圣誕前夕，瑪麗亞發(fā)布了第四張專輯《For A Moment》。其中的主打曲“Brief and beautiful”的MV，瑪麗亞給人感覺成熟了許多，“Brief and beautiful” 也一時(shí)間成為Maria自2004發(fā)行了《Not going under》這張專輯以來(lái)在挪威最受歡迎的歌曲。 "Brief and Beautiful"由Hanne Sørvaag和Harry Sommerdahl所寫。經(jīng)改編而成的西班牙語(yǔ)歌曲"Fue para los dos"在2007年前西班牙歌手Edurne演唱。

2008年，瑪麗亞參與演出了舞臺(tái)劇“音樂之聲”并發(fā)布了新專輯《Sound of musicals》。這首專輯中以翻唱經(jīng)典為主，同時(shí)糅合了她自己獨(dú)特的風(fēng)格，有一種使經(jīng)典重生和耳目一新的感覺。其中“I know him so well”這首歌祥和美好，值得一聽。至于專輯中所翻唱的《獅子王》主題曲更是廣受歡迎，有著很大程度上不同于原唱的聽覺感受。
