傳記法國(guó)編導(dǎo)。父母是作家。大學(xué)時(shí)代先學(xué)醫(yī)，后研修科學(xué)，當(dāng)過(guò)記者，后轉(zhuǎn)向劇本寫(xiě)作，擅長(zhǎng)寫(xiě)喜劇。70年代寫(xiě)了一批搞笑喜劇，引入注目。1976年獲好萊塢支持，編導(dǎo)美國(guó)片《超級(jí)玩具》，成為他的導(dǎo)演處女作。之后活躍于歐美兩地，同時(shí)進(jìn)行編劇和導(dǎo)演工作。1998年的《客人變成豬》極為成功。
