演藝經(jīng)歷
尼爾·麥克唐納1966年出生在美國馬薩諸塞州的澤道切斯，父母都是愛爾蘭移民，家中共有五個兄弟姐妹。1988年雪城大學(xué)畢業(yè)（藝術(shù)學(xué)士學(xué)位）之后曾在英國倫敦西區(qū)著名的表演學(xué)校LAMDA（London Academy of Dramatic Arts and Sciences）短暫進(jìn)修過一段時(shí)間。此這里起步，尼爾·麥克唐納出言過多部戲劇，包括《Cheap Talk》、《Foreigner》、《皆大歡喜》、《Rivals》、《仲夏夜之夢》、《禿頭歌女》以及《等待老左》(Waiting for Lefty)等等，1991年憑借《Away Alone》獲得Best Actor Dramalogue獎。
尼爾從小就是“星際旅行”科幻系列的粉絲，1996年則有幸在第這一系列的第八部影片《星際旅行：第一類接觸》中出演了Lieutenant Sean Hawk一角，此外他還開始在多部電視劇中出境，但一直沒能有突出的成績；尼爾曾一度打算放棄演藝事業(yè)，直到經(jīng)紀(jì)人替他爭取到了為影片《兄弟連》試鏡的機(jī)會，結(jié)果他在里面成功扮演了巴克康普頓上尉的角色，這也讓他接下來繼續(xù)同斯皮爾伯格以及湯姆·克魯斯合作《少數(shù)派報(bào)告》一片。2006年，尼爾亮相的三部影片包括阿爾·帕西諾的《88分鐘》、美式主旋律影片《驚濤大冒險(xiǎn)》以及受到高度贊譽(yù)的《父輩的旗幟》，07年則有同后輩林塞·洛翰合作的驚悚片《雙面疑殺》（I Know Who Killed Me）、以及章子怡和丹尼斯·奎德主演的《騎士》等影片。
