1. 從中高緯地區(qū)環(huán)流異常、低緯地區(qū)大氣熱源和水汽匯異常、東亞局地經(jīng)向環(huán)流變異和大氣30～60天低頻振蕩活動以及熱帶海溫異常等方面，較系統(tǒng)地研究了南海夏季風爆發(fā)遲早的機制，提出了前期中高緯環(huán)流異常、低緯地區(qū)低頻對流活動、東亞局地經(jīng)圈環(huán)流變異和西太平洋副熱帶高壓變動與南海夏季風爆發(fā)遲早的關系物理圖像；

2. 研究了西太平洋海氣相互作用與熱帶大氣環(huán)流異常和ENSO循環(huán)的關系，指出了副熱帶環(huán)流異常在連結熱帶西太平洋和中緯度西太平洋海氣相互作用中的橋梁作用，揭示了西太平洋海氣相互作用對熱帶氣旋活動和夏季副熱帶高壓環(huán)流異常的可能影響。
