畢業(yè)于中國(guó)科學(xué)院山西煤炭化學(xué)研究所,
1999年以來寧夏大學(xué)從事科研、教學(xué)工作。
現(xiàn)為能源化工自治區(qū)重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室(省部共建天然氣轉(zhuǎn)化國(guó)家重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室培育基地)教授。
1993.09-1996.07鄭州大學(xué)化學(xué)系獲物理化學(xué)專業(yè)碩士學(xué)位;
1996.09-1999.08中國(guó)科學(xué)院山西煤炭化學(xué)研究所獲物理化學(xué)專業(yè)博士學(xué)位;
1999.09-2002.11 寧夏大學(xué)能源化工重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室,副教授、教授;
2002.12-2004.12 日本富山大學(xué)工學(xué)部潔凈能源研究室, 客座研究員;
2005.01- 寧夏大學(xué)能源化工重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室,教授;
2009.11-2010.01 日本富山大學(xué)工學(xué)部,訪問教授。
趙天生是常務(wù)副主任,應(yīng)用化學(xué)、物理化學(xué)專業(yè)碩士研究生導(dǎo)師。寧夏回族自治區(qū)“煤基應(yīng)用催化” 科技創(chuàng)新團(tuán)隊(duì)學(xué)術(shù)帶頭人!短烊粴饣ぁ(C1化學(xué)與化工)、《石油化工應(yīng)用》編委。
