1981年9月考取西北大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系基礎(chǔ)數(shù)學(xué)專業(yè)本科生，1985年 7月獲學(xué)士學(xué)位。1985年9月考取西北大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系基礎(chǔ)數(shù)學(xué)專業(yè)拓?fù)鋵W(xué)方向碩士生，1988年7月獲碩士學(xué)位。 1991年9月考取四川大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系基礎(chǔ)數(shù)學(xué)專業(yè)拓?fù)鋵W(xué)方向博士生，1994年7月獲博士學(xué)位。工作情況 1988年至1991年在西北大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系相繼任助教和講師。1994年至1996年在西北大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系任講師。1996年至2009在西北大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系任副教授。2009年至今在西北大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系任教授。

1996年至2002年任西北大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系副主任，主管教學(xué)工作。1997年至今任《純粹數(shù)學(xué)與應(yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)》編委。2008年至今任美國《數(shù)學(xué)評(píng)論》評(píng)論員。
