在西澳大利亞大學獲得了社會人類學的學士學位，然后在澳大利亞外交部研究國際經濟學，在詹姆斯庫克大學（昆士蘭）的環(huán)境科學系完成博士學位。
He has a wide first-hand experience of tourism issues in the Asia/Pacific having undertaken more than 70 consultancies and research projects in Australia, China, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and 12 Pacific Island countries.曾經在澳大利亞，中國，尼泊爾，印度尼西亞，馬來西亞，越南和12個太平洋島嶼國家進行了70多個咨詢和研究項目。曾擔任澳大利亞國立合作研究中心關于西澳大利亞州（ 1997-2000年）和塔斯馬尼亞州（ 2001-2004年） ，可持續(xù)旅游（ STCRC ）項目的協(xié)調員。
