新功能主義：
以亞歷山大教授為代表，繼承和發(fā)揚(yáng)了Talcott Parsons 塔爾科特 帕森斯的思想。 新功能主義有5個(gè)主要取向：
第一，創(chuàng)造一種多維度的功能主義，同時(shí)包括對(duì)微觀和宏觀層次的分析
第二，將功能主義引向批判，拋棄帕森斯對(duì)于現(xiàn)代性的樂觀態(tài)度
第三，在功能性分析中討論隱藏的變革
第四，包括對(duì)沖突的分析
第五，強(qiáng)調(diào)不確定性和互動(dòng)創(chuàng)造性
當(dāng)帕森斯將行動(dòng)者視為分析概念，亞歷山大卻認(rèn)為行動(dòng)是具體的，有生命的人們?cè)跁r(shí)空當(dāng)中創(chuàng)造的。并且他認(rèn)為每個(gè)行動(dòng)都包含了自由意志的維度，由此，他將功能主義擴(kuò)展到了包含一些符號(hào)互動(dòng)的領(lǐng)域。
