他曾獲得克薩斯文學(xué)研究所（Texas Institute of Letters）的多比·佩薩諾獎金（Dobie Paisano Fellowship）。有數(shù)篇短篇小說獲得數(shù)個文學(xué)獎，其中“Whitmore， 1969”曾獲“小推車獎”（Pushcart Prize）提名，并刊載于《大西洋月刊》（The Atlantic Monthly）。繼首部長篇小說《水銀幻境》之后，他新近出版了《美麗的參差多態(tài)》（The Beautiful Miscellaneous）。
