1999留學以色列、2001-2002留學德國、2002-2004留學新西蘭、2005留學美國�，F(xiàn)任International Foundation for Science科學顧問、Asian Journal of Plant Sciences編委、Chemosphere評閱人；中國糧油儲藏專業(yè)分會常務理事、中國昆蟲學會城市昆蟲專業(yè)委員會委員、湖北省昆蟲學會常務理事和湖北省植保學會常務理事。多次參加大型國際會議, 其中4次被邀作分組報告；2004年 the XVth International Plant Protection Congress學科召集人, 并主持一個大會報告和專題報告; 1998年7th International Working Conference on Stored-product Protection學科召集人, 主持專題報告和論文集編委；2006年the International Forum for Sustainable Management of Disease Vectors組委會成員；2008年8th International Conference on Controlled Atmosphere and Fumigation in Stored Products專題主持人。
獲得榮譽
近期共發(fā)表科學論文60多篇，已有6篇被SCI收錄，4篇被SCI刊源接受。先后獲得教育部提名國家自然科學獎二等獎、教育部科技進步二等獎、湖北省科學技術進步二等獎、湖北省自然科學獎三等獎各1項，湖北省科技進步三等獎2項。主編了高等學校動植物檢疫專業(yè)教材《植物害蟲檢疫學》（科學出版社）（已列入“十一五”國家級規(guī)劃教材）及《植物檢疫處理原理與方法》教材；主編“十一五”國家級規(guī)劃教材《城市昆蟲學》（中國農(nóng)業(yè)出版社）；副主編教育部面向21世紀教材及國家精品課程系列教材《農(nóng)業(yè)昆蟲學》（中國農(nóng)業(yè)出版社）。
近年來，先后主持多項國際科學基金、世界衛(wèi)生組織項目、國家自然科學基金項目、“十一五”國家科技支撐計劃重點項目以及省部級項目；已與美國、新西蘭等開展合作研究。
1.2006年湖北省科學技術進步二等獎，園林白蟻地上治理新技術研究。
2.2005年中國教育部科技進步二等獎, 蘇云金芽胞桿菌新亞種、新基因和特異活性菌株的發(fā)現(xiàn)。
3.2004年教育部提名國家自然科學獎二等獎，蘇云金芽胞桿菌新亞種、新基因和特異活性菌株的發(fā)現(xiàn)。
4.2004年湖北省自然科學獎三等獎, 蘇云金芽胞桿菌新亞種和新基因的發(fā)現(xiàn)及新方法的建立。
5.2003年湖北省科技進步三等獎, 儲藏物昆蟲生物學及生物防治研究。
