生平簡介
1934年在紐約參加了舞臺劇《齊格飛歌舞團(tuán)》的演出。1937年正式轉(zhuǎn)入電影界，經(jīng)常扮演熱情、爽快、潑辣的女人。
四十年代是她 電影生涯的高峰期，每年平均演出三部影片，1948年在廣播喜劇連續(xù)劇《我們的布魯克斯小姐》和1952至1957年在 電視系列片《我們的布魯克斯小姐》中都扮演一位英國女教師，因此在1953年獲得了埃米獎(jiǎng)。1945年演出影片《欲海情魔》，獲得當(dāng)年奧斯卡最佳女本角金像獎(jiǎng)提名。1965年出演《無能的警官》后退出影壇，息影十年后，于1975年又演出了賣座影片《油脂》，她先后共參加演出的影片有三十余部，在觀眾心目中留下較深的印象。
