1962年畢業(yè)于復(fù)旦大學生物系。1981年至1983年在美國紐約州立大學石溪分校做訪問學者。曾任復(fù)旦大學生命科學學院院長，國家高技術(shù)研究計劃生物技術(shù)領(lǐng)域?qū)＜椅瘑T會委員�，F(xiàn)為中國遺傳學會理事，《遺傳》和《遺傳學報》副主編，《生物化學與生物物理學報》及《生物工程學報》編委。
主要研究方向
1. 新型酵母表達載系統(tǒng)的研究和應(yīng)用。
2. 以酵母菌為模式生物進行人類基因功能和藥物篩選研究。
獲獎情況
1990年被國家計委、國家教委及中國科學院聯(lián)合授予"為國家重點實驗室建設(shè)作出重大貢獻的先進工作者"稱號，獲金牛獎。2001年獲國家科委授予的"國家863計劃十五周年先進個人"稱號。2001年獲上海市科技進步二等獎、上海市優(yōu)秀發(fā)明一等獎。
