演藝經(jīng)歷
18歲時參加南方衛(wèi)理公會大學(xué)一個學(xué)院劇團演出時，被星探發(fā)現(xiàn)并與雷電華影片公司簽訂片約；1945年她參加華納影片公司，演技雖逐步提高，但主要是扮演領(lǐng)銜的標準美女角色，經(jīng)過10多年的電影演藝生涯，到50年代中期，才成為一名優(yōu)秀的劇情片女演員。1956年因在影片《苦雨戀春風(fēng)》中扮演任性的妹妹而獲得第29屆奧斯卡最佳女配角金像獎。但后來的影片很少獲得成功。1964年至1969年她主演電視連續(xù)劇《冷暖人間》獲得好評。
