人物生平
十六歲時(shí)開始和楊氏風(fēng)格太極大師高濤先生學(xué)習(xí)太極拳,之后又和許多太極名家學(xué)習(xí),如李茂清先生(他的老師是韓慶堂先生),和臺(tái)北的陳威伸先生(他的老師是張祥三先生),楊俊敏從兩位老師處學(xué)習(xí)了太極拳,太極推手,太極散手,太極劍,太極刀和太極氣功。
楊俊敏在十八歲時(shí)進(jìn)入了臺(tái)北淡江(Tamkang)大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)物理,也開始學(xué)習(xí)少林長拳,并和李茂青組成了淡江大學(xué)國術(shù)社(1964-1968),他成為了李大師的助手,1971年他在臺(tái)灣大學(xué)修完了物理碩士學(xué)位課程,開始在臺(tái)灣空軍服役(1971-1972),服役期間在臺(tái)灣空軍幼校教授物理(1971 - 1972),同時(shí)也教授武術(shù),于1972年退役,他返回淡江大學(xué)教授物理并繼續(xù)和李老師學(xué)習(xí)武術(shù),從李老師,楊先生學(xué)習(xí)了北派武術(shù)。1974年來到美國學(xué)習(xí)機(jī)械工程學(xué),在普度大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)(Purdue University)。在一些學(xué)生們的請求下,楊先生開始教武術(shù),于是在1975年春天成立了普渡大學(xué)中國武術(shù)俱樂部,同時(shí)也教授太極拳,最后,在1978年榮獲普渡大學(xué)機(jī)械工程學(xué)博士學(xué)位。
1982年在波士頓成立了楊氏武術(shù)協(xié)會(huì)。意圖維護(hù)傳承中國傳統(tǒng)武術(shù)和氣功,楊博士開始嚴(yán)格訓(xùn)練學(xué)生少林長拳和白鶴拳,還有楊式太極拳,楊氏武術(shù)協(xié)會(huì)已經(jīng)成為了一個(gè)國際性的組織,在阿根廷,比利時(shí),加拿大,智利,法國,荷蘭,匈牙利,伊朗,冰島,意大利,波蘭,葡萄牙,西班牙,南非,英國,和美國共成立了56所學(xué)校。在八十年代,楊博士寫了一系列的書出版,1984年,楊博士從他的機(jī)械師生涯中退休,開始實(shí)現(xiàn)他早年的夢想——教學(xué)和研究中國藝術(shù)并把它們通過書,錄像帶,和DVD等介紹給西方。
之后許多年里,楊博士不斷旅行在各國楊氏武術(shù)協(xié)會(huì)之間,教授和傳播中國武術(shù),并出版了30本書,71套錄像帶,和25套dvd。為中國武術(shù)與西方搭建了橋梁。
在2004年,楊先生開始創(chuàng)建楊氏武術(shù)協(xié)會(huì)退休中心,在Humboldt鄉(xiāng)下一個(gè)偏僻的地方,在這里,從2008年開始,他將一直花費(fèi)十年的時(shí)間開始訓(xùn)練一批經(jīng)過挑選的學(xué)生(意思應(yīng)該是收正式弟子)。占地240英畝,當(dāng)前由訓(xùn)練處和住宿處兩個(gè)建筑組成,這是個(gè)非營利組織,完全由免稅的捐助組成,您可以選擇捐助,或作為志愿者來參與幫忙。
楊博士的目標(biāo)是把他的完整的全部的中國武術(shù)知識和哲學(xué),歷史和文化傳授給下一代(還有漢語,做中國飯,中醫(yī),騎馬,音樂等等),通過十年的綜合課程。

From his recent interview with Lama Somananda Tantrapa…
“Between the ages of 9 and 12, I had almost no food. Taiwan was preparing for a war against Chinese mainland. Most of us kids were starving.
There were nine children in my family, and at that time, feeding nine children was not easy. All our problems gave me an ulcer by the time I was 16 years old.
One day, I was sitting in the corner in a cold sweat. My White Crane Kung Fu master said I had a stomach problem. “What should I do?” I asked him. I had no medicine, and no money to see a doctor.
“At that time, in the early 1960s, you could not go learn another style without your masteru2019s approval. It was not like today—people making u2018chop sueyu2019 by mixing all these different styles.”
He said, “Iu2019ve heard that Taiji can help you relax your internal organs.”
My master encouraged me to learn Tai Chi Chuan. That is the reason I started at the early age of 16. My motivation was not fighting; it was to ease the pain of my ulcer, and hopefully to heal myself.
Did it work? It surprised me. Six months later, the painful episodes had been reduced. After most of a year, they disappeared.
So that is why I started practicing Tai Chi Chuan. It is not because I liked it…I hated it, but it helped me to calm down.
楊俊敏:“太極是我唯一能負(fù)擔(dān)得起的醫(yī)生”
在我9到12歲之間,我?guī)缀醪荒艹燥。那時(shí)臺(tái)灣正在準(zhǔn)備用戰(zhàn)爭來對抗中國大陸。大多數(shù)的像我們這樣的孩子都在挨餓。
我家里有9個(gè)孩子,那時(shí),養(yǎng)活9個(gè)孩子很不容易,當(dāng)?shù)弥瓉砦沂堑昧藵儠r(shí)我已經(jīng)16歲了。
一天,我坐在角落里哭泣。教我白鶴功的師傅說我的胃有問題!拔以撛趺崔k?”我告訴他,我沒有藥,也沒有錢去看醫(yī)生。
當(dāng)時(shí),在1960年,沒有你師傅的允許,你就不能學(xué)習(xí)其他風(fēng)格的功夫。不像今天這樣——人們像做“雜炒”一樣混合所有的不同的風(fēng)格。
他說:“我聽說太極能幫你緩和你的內(nèi)臟。
我的師傅鼓勵(lì)我學(xué)習(xí)太極拳。這就是我在16歲就開始學(xué)習(xí)太極拳的理由。我的動(dòng)機(jī)不是搏斗;而是要緩和我的潰瘍的疼痛,希望能治好我的病。
然后呢?令我吃驚,六個(gè)月后,疼痛減少了,一年多后,疼痛徹底消失了。
這就是我為什么開始學(xué)習(xí)太極拳的原因。起因并不是因?yàn)槲蚁矚g。。。那時(shí)我并不喜歡,但是它幫我平靜了下來。
