1994年至1995年 在法國巴黎第十三大學(xué)癌細(xì)胞基因分子實(shí)驗(yàn)室和巴黎第十二大學(xué)國家科研中心實(shí)驗(yàn)室工作。導(dǎo)師：M. Crepin教授；

1996年至1998年 在法國巴黎第十二大學(xué)國家科研中心實(shí)驗(yàn)室攻讀分子生物學(xué)及生物化學(xué)博士學(xué)位。導(dǎo)師： M. Crepin教授和D. Barritault教授；

1999年至2001年 在法國巴黎Cochin醫(yī)院分子基因?qū)嶒?yàn)室（INSERM U257）開展博士后研究工作。導(dǎo)師： G. Gacon教授；

2001 年至2002 年 在AVENTIS藥業(yè)公司從事新藥篩選工作, 期間被派往法國在國際神經(jīng)科學(xué)和分子藥學(xué)權(quán)威﹑法國科學(xué)院院士﹑現(xiàn)任法國神經(jīng)科學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)主席J.Bockaert教授實(shí)驗(yàn)室合作研究。

2002年11月至2019年在華中科技大學(xué)生命科學(xué)學(xué)院工作。

1993年至2003年一直在法國學(xué)習(xí)和工作，回國后在籌建實(shí)驗(yàn)室的過程中與法國國家科研中心功能基因所建立了密切合作。2004年雙方合作成立了中法聯(lián)合藥物篩選及研發(fā)中心，劉劍峰任主任，法方專家任副主任。雙方在C族GPCR成員的激活和二聚化機(jī)制領(lǐng)域開展了多項(xiàng)合作，取得了一系列重要成果。據(jù)介紹，法國國家科研中心將在2014年批準(zhǔn)中法聯(lián)合藥物篩選及研發(fā)中心正式成為法國國家科研中心國際聯(lián)合實(shí)驗(yàn)室，這是法國政府在武漢地區(qū)設(shè)立的第一家中法國際聯(lián)合實(shí)驗(yàn)室。

從事有關(guān)癌癥中酪氨酸激酶受體FGFR激活過程中所誘導(dǎo)的信號(hào)轉(zhuǎn)導(dǎo)機(jī)制、神經(jīng)退行性疾病中GPCR家族C激活過程中的分子機(jī)制的研究，并開展以FGFR為靶點(diǎn)的抗癌藥物和以GPCR家族C為靶點(diǎn)的抗神經(jīng)系統(tǒng)疾病藥物篩選工作。

2007-2010 主持國家科技部863項(xiàng)目(2007AA02Z300): 膜蛋白GABAB受體調(diào)節(jié)的細(xì)胞長期效應(yīng)的蛋白質(zhì)作用網(wǎng)絡(luò)的建立及其藥物篩選研究（100萬元, 負(fù)責(zé)人）；

2007-2012 主持國家科技部國家重大科學(xué)研究計(jì)劃蛋白質(zhì)專項(xiàng)子課題(2007CB914202): 高通量檢測(cè)膜受體蛋白活性的新技術(shù)新方法(432萬元, 負(fù)責(zé)人);

2006-2009 主持國家自然基金重點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目(30530820): GPCR家族C成員HD區(qū)在激活過程中的構(gòu)象變化分子機(jī)制及其藥學(xué)意義（150萬元 負(fù)責(zé)人）；
