    2013年11月30日上午,臺(tái)灣清華大學(xué)校長(zhǎng)遴選委員會(huì)召開第九次會(huì)議,投票推選出臺(tái)灣“國(guó)科會(huì)”副主委賀陳弘教授為新任校長(zhǎng)人選。

    2014年2月7日,臺(tái)灣清華大學(xué)舉行卸、新任校長(zhǎng)交接典禮,由賀陳弘接任。他致詞表示,清華有大樓、有大師,更懷抱對(duì)教育學(xué)子、探索真理及對(duì)社會(huì)公義的大愛(ài),21世紀(jì)世界新的文明即將從亞洲寫下首頁(yè)之際,清華已經(jīng)就位。賀陳弘說(shuō),清華有傲人的傳統(tǒng),在中西文化激蕩之際創(chuàng)校,不同學(xué)問(wèn)的思辨,本土與國(guó)際的對(duì)話,滋養(yǎng)人才輩出,學(xué)貫中西,貢獻(xiàn)人群,橫跨學(xué)術(shù)、藝術(shù)、文學(xué)、軍事、政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)各領(lǐng)域。雖然清華歷經(jīng)變遷,但師生自強(qiáng)不息,厚德載物的精神與面貌屹立不搖。賀陳弘說(shuō),清華大學(xué)深厚的學(xué)術(shù)及教育傳統(tǒng),令人贊許,在人才培育與知識(shí)研究?jī)煞矫嬉获R當(dāng)先,不但是島內(nèi)的翹楚,而且再度在國(guó)際上展露光芒。不過(guò),賀陳弘指出,因島內(nèi)政治經(jīng)濟(jì)環(huán)境未見寬裕,而全球教育及產(chǎn)業(yè)競(jìng)爭(zhēng)日急,“清華將面臨一長(zhǎng)段崎嶇而吃力的道路”,他以孟子名言“無(wú)敵國(guó)外患者,國(guó)恒亡”砥礪清華師生從過(guò)去幾年的舒適區(qū)正視未來(lái)的艱難環(huán)境,并對(duì)自己做更深刻的檢視和更新。賀陳弘上任后,打破以往以學(xué)術(shù)及行政督導(dǎo)的方式,參酌企業(yè)事業(yè)群的組織概念,聘任三位副校長(zhǎng),分別督導(dǎo)教育、研究和全球化工作,全力追求清華的持續(xù)成長(zhǎng)。
