1976年畢業(yè)于中國科技大學(xué)，1983-1985分別在瑞士日內(nèi)瓦大學(xué)和聯(lián)邦水科學(xué)與技術(shù)研究所進(jìn)修。1992-2000年先后擔(dān)任生態(tài)中心環(huán)境水化學(xué)國家重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室副主任和主任。2001以來是國家863計(jì)劃污染控制技術(shù)主題專家組成員和副組長和資源環(huán)境領(lǐng)域?qū)＜医M成員，2006年以來是國家水體污染控制與治理科技重大專項(xiàng)總體專家組成員，河流主題專家組組長。擔(dān)任過國家自然科學(xué)基金委員會(huì)地球科學(xué)部第二、三屆咨詢專家委員會(huì)委員。目前是國家自然科學(xué)基金委第三屆監(jiān)督委員會(huì)委員委員，生態(tài)毒理學(xué)學(xué)報(bào)主編，環(huán)境科學(xué)學(xué)報(bào)副主編、Environmental Science and Health (A)，Water Quality, Exposure & Health等雜志的編委。

先后指導(dǎo)博士后5名，培養(yǎng)博士生20余名，培養(yǎng)碩士生20余名。已經(jīng)在SCI刊物上發(fā)表論文170余篇，在國內(nèi)核心刊物上發(fā)表論文250余篇，申請(qǐng)國家發(fā)明專利15項(xiàng)。

國家自然科學(xué)基金課題，“內(nèi)分泌干擾物對(duì)魚類的毒理和分子標(biāo)記”，2007-2009，課題負(fù)責(zé)人，課題經(jīng)費(fèi)32萬。

環(huán)境保護(hù)部公益類項(xiàng)目：“我國重要有機(jī)污染物（取代酚類）的水質(zhì)基準(zhǔn)預(yù)研究”，項(xiàng)目負(fù)責(zé)人，2007-2010，項(xiàng)目經(jīng)費(fèi)180萬。

國家自然科學(xué)基金重點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目(："典型污染物的復(fù)合污染及生態(tài)毒理機(jī)制的研究" ，項(xiàng)目負(fù)責(zé)人，2008-2011，項(xiàng)目經(jīng)費(fèi)180萬元。

中國科學(xué)院重點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目：“區(qū)域環(huán)境污染界面過程與效應(yīng)的集成研究”，項(xiàng)目負(fù)責(zé)人，2008-2011，項(xiàng)目經(jīng)費(fèi)1200萬。

研究工作獲國家發(fā)明二等獎(jiǎng)、國家自然科學(xué)二等獎(jiǎng)、國家科學(xué)技術(shù)進(jìn)步二等獎(jiǎng)等。1992年獲國務(wù)院政府特殊津貼，1996年獲中國科學(xué)院有突出貢獻(xiàn)的中青年專家，1999年獲中國環(huán)境科學(xué)會(huì)第三屆優(yōu)秀環(huán)境科技工作者, 2000年科協(xié)國家優(yōu)秀科技工作者。
