潘孝胤，男，1974年10月出生，浙江寧海人。

1996年畢業(yè)于中國科技大學(xué)近代力學(xué)系，并師從國內(nèi)著名量子力學(xué)專家范洪義教授攻讀理論物理碩士，

1998年獲碩士學(xué)位，同年留學(xué)美國紐約城市大學(xué)，師從美國著名的密度泛函理論以及電子結(jié)構(gòu)研究先驅(qū)Viraht Sahni教授，2004年獲博士。

2008年回國，被 寧波大學(xué)聘為甬江特聘教授，研究員。

主要從事密度泛函基礎(chǔ)理論研究，現(xiàn)在在美國的APS上發(fā)表了論文6篇。還在JCP上發(fā)表5篇論文。

主要研究方向：現(xiàn)主要為密度泛函理論，一維多體模型，和流體力學(xué)。
