1994年加入九三學(xué)社。中共黨員�，F(xiàn)任北京大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)部藥學(xué)院天然藥物學(xué)系教授、博士生導(dǎo)師，北京大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)部·富山醫(yī)科藥科大學(xué)藥用資源研究國(guó)際合作中心主任。九三學(xué)社第十二屆中央委員會(huì)委員。北京市第十三屆人大代表。

1978年至1982年就讀于北京醫(yī)學(xué)院藥學(xué)系藥學(xué)專業(yè)，獲學(xué)士學(xué)位。1982年1月畢業(yè)并留校任擔(dān)任藥學(xué)系藥學(xué)教研室助教。

1983年10月赴日本留學(xué)，1986年和1989年分別獲得富山醫(yī)科藥科大學(xué)藥學(xué)碩士和藥學(xué)博士學(xué)位�；貒�(guó)到北京（醫(yī)科）大學(xué)藥學(xué)院，在生藥學(xué)教研室做博士后研究（1989.12 ~1991.12），1991.12博士后出站任副教授，1996年6月升任教授，1999年3月任博士生導(dǎo)師至今。

1992年5月任北京醫(yī)科大學(xué)藥學(xué)院生藥學(xué)教研室副主任，1995年4月升任生藥學(xué)教研室主任；1997年1月任北京醫(yī)科大學(xué)藥學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)助理，兼天然藥物學(xué)系副主任和生藥學(xué)研究室主任，1999年12月至2004年3月任北京（醫(yī)科）大學(xué)藥學(xué)院副院長(zhǎng)。

2005年3月任北京大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)部·富山醫(yī)科藥科大學(xué) 藥用資源研究國(guó)際合作中心主任。1997年1月至1997年3月 兼任日本國(guó)富山醫(yī)科藥科大學(xué)和漢藥研究所客座研究員，2002年6月至2002年10月兼任日本九州大學(xué)藥學(xué)院客座教授，2003年12月兼任臺(tái)灣嘉南藥理科技大學(xué)藥理學(xué)院客座教授；2004年9月被聘為哈爾濱商業(yè)大學(xué)客座教授，2005年9月被聘為中國(guó)協(xié)和醫(yī)科大學(xué)藥用植物研究所客座教授，2006年6月被聘為河南中醫(yī)學(xué)院名譽(yù)教授，2007年9月被聘重慶市中藥研究院客座研究員。

曾任九三學(xué)社第十一屆中央委員會(huì)委員，北京市第十屆委員會(huì)副主委。北京市第十屆政協(xié)委員。

他是生藥學(xué)國(guó)家重點(diǎn)學(xué)科點(diǎn)的學(xué)術(shù)帶頭人之一，多年來承擔(dān)了國(guó)家七五、八五、九五、十五攻關(guān)項(xiàng)目，國(guó)家九五攀登計(jì)劃項(xiàng)目，國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金重點(diǎn)、面上、杰出青年項(xiàng)目，國(guó)家973項(xiàng)目，國(guó)家十一五科技支撐項(xiàng)目等20余項(xiàng)科研課題。發(fā)表科研論文160余篇，主編參編著作10部。
