人物經(jīng)歷
1962年6月,謝曉亮出生于北京,并在北京大學附屬小學和北京大學附屬中學度過小學與中學階段。
1980年,考入北京大學化學系,業(yè)余時間還旁聽了物理系和數(shù)學系的課程,還利用暑假到實驗室做實驗,學有機合成,又寫計算機程序做化學計算。
1985年夏,赴加州大學圣地亞哥分校攻讀博士,師從研究超快激光研究化學動力學的約翰·西蒙(John Simon)。
1989年,博士畢業(yè)后去芝加哥大學物理化學教授格雷厄姆·弗萊明(Graham Fleming)的實驗室做博士后。
1992年,進入美國太平洋西北國家實驗室(PNNL)工作,從事單個分子光譜和動力學、超高分辨光學成像研究,是PNNL自1965年成立以來第一位來自中國大陸的科學家。
1999年,被聘為哈佛大學化學與化學生物系終身教授,是改革開放以后哈佛大學引進的第一位來自中國大陸的終身教授。
2000年,在哈佛大學的第一年,謝曉亮寫了6個申請書,全部獲得資助。
2001年9月7日,受聘北京大學化學學院客座教授,同一天,受聘為分子動態(tài)與穩(wěn)態(tài)結(jié)構(gòu)國家重點實驗室學術(shù)委員會委員。
2004年,獲得美國國立衛(wèi)生研究院(NIH)先鋒獎,在之后五年中每年獲得50萬美元的自由支配經(jīng)費。
2008年,被北京大學生命科學學院聘為講座教授。
2009年,擔任哈佛大學Mallinckrodt講席教授,是改革開放后大陸學者獲得哈佛大學冠名講席教授的第一人。
2010年12月,在北京大學主持創(chuàng)辦了北京大學生物動態(tài)光學成像中心(BIOPIC),擔任主任。
2013年,第二次獲得美國國立衛(wèi)生研究院(NIH)先鋒獎。
2015年,謝曉亮與斯坦福大學教授Karl Deisseroth共同獲得阿爾伯尼生物醫(yī)學獎,成為該獎項的首位華人獲得者;同年獲得美國化學會德拜獎。
2016年,組建了北京未來基因診斷高精尖創(chuàng)新中心(ICG),擔任主任;10月17日,當選為美國國家醫(yī)學院院士。
2017年9月16日,獲得求是杰出科學家獎;11月,當選中國科學院外籍院士。
2018年7月,正式全職回到北京大學工作,擔任北京大學李兆基講席教授;同年擔任主任的北京大學生物動態(tài)光學成像中心,更名為“北京大學生物醫(yī)學前沿創(chuàng)新中心”(Biomedical Pioneering Innovation Center,BIOPIC)。
2019年11月,擔任北京大學理學部主任。
主要成就
科研成就
科研綜述謝曉亮是單分子酶學的創(chuàng)始人、單分子生物物理化學的奠基人之一、相干拉曼散射顯微成像技術(shù)和單細胞基因組學的開拓者。謝曉亮教授作為單分子生物物理化學家,他勇于突破學科界限,從物理化學、生物物理到生物化學,再到分子生物學、基因組學及臨床醫(yī)學,無畏探索,不斷創(chuàng)新,在相關(guān)新興交叉學科做出了創(chuàng)造性貢獻。
謝曉亮不僅是生物物理化學基礎(chǔ)科學研究的國際領(lǐng)軍人物,近年來大力推動了無標記光學成像技術(shù)和新型單細胞基因組測序技術(shù)在醫(yī)學中的應(yīng)用。2012年謝曉亮在單細胞全基因組學研究有了突破性進展,開發(fā)了單細胞全基因組均勻擴增的新方法—多重退火循環(huán)擴增法(MALBAC)。2014年9月19日,世界上第一例“MALBAC嬰兒”在北醫(yī)三院誕生,標志著中國胚胎植入前遺傳診斷技術(shù)處于世界領(lǐng)先水平。迄今為止,謝曉亮團隊利用MALBAC技術(shù)為中國三百多個患有單基因遺傳病的家庭成功避免了疾病的子代傳遞,為數(shù)千位孕婦避免了染色體異常胚胎的移植,減少了流產(chǎn)和唐氏綜合征等染色體異常疾病的發(fā)生。

基礎(chǔ)研究:單分子酶學、單分子生物物理化學、基因表達和調(diào)控、表觀遺傳學、細胞分化和重編程機理、基因組不穩(wěn)定性;
技術(shù)發(fā)展:單分子成像、單細胞基因組學、相干拉曼散射顯微成像、DNA 測序;
醫(yī)學研究:體外受精胚胎植入前遺傳學篩查與診斷、早期癌癥診斷。

家世背景謝曉亮的父親謝有暢與母親楊駿英皆為北京大學化學系的教授。

謝曉亮在非線性拉曼顯微學和高靈敏度分子振動成像領(lǐng)域具有創(chuàng)新研究,在創(chuàng)立單分子生物物理化學領(lǐng)域中處于科學領(lǐng)導地位,而且他在酶反應(yīng)動力學和活細胞基因表達領(lǐng)域做出了杰出工作。(2009年美國歐內(nèi)斯特·奧蘭多·勞倫斯獎)
謝曉亮是單細胞生物學領(lǐng)域的領(lǐng)軍人物,他已在該領(lǐng)域做出了關(guān)于單個分子及其行為影響細胞的生命過程乃至人類疾病的諸多研究成果。(2015年美國阿爾伯尼生物醫(yī)學獎)
謝曉亮是學科交叉研究的踐行者,從物理化學、生物物理到生物化學,再到分子生物學,基因組學及臨床醫(yī)學,他無畏探索,不斷創(chuàng)新,他是單分子酶學的創(chuàng)始人、單分子生物物理化學的奠基人之一、相干拉曼散射顯微成像技術(shù)和單細胞基因組學的開拓者,在單分子生物物理和生物醫(yī)學光學成像領(lǐng)域作出了杰出的貢獻。(2017年求是科學基金會評)

謝曉亮的第一個基礎(chǔ)研究工作是1998年開展的單分子酶學,他開創(chuàng)了在單分子層面對生命過程的研究。近年他又開始探探索在醫(yī)學上的應(yīng)用。中國引進現(xiàn)代醫(yī)學后,在現(xiàn)代藥學方面只有少數(shù)幾個藥物作用領(lǐng)域的發(fā)現(xiàn),在現(xiàn)代醫(yī)學技術(shù)上唯一的發(fā)明和應(yīng)用就是謝曉亮和湯富酬、喬杰三個團隊合作誕生的u2018MALBAC嬰兒u2019。(北京大學生命科學院饒毅)
