南京大學(xué)，1978-1982，數(shù)學(xué)系本科生，計算數(shù)學(xué)專業(yè)，于1982年1月獲學(xué)士學(xué)位。
1988 年末與世界著名數(shù)學(xué)家 Uhlenbeck 各自獨立構(gòu)造了不穩(wěn)定 Yang-Mills 場，并因此應(yīng)邀去美國哈佛大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系做兩年博士后，然后去杜克訪問一年。
1991 年至 2001 年在新加坡國立大學(xué)從事數(shù)學(xué)教學(xué)和研究, 期間先后訪問過日本京都大學(xué)、東京大學(xué)、英國牛津大學(xué)、劍橋大學(xué)、 意大利第三世界科學(xué)院等世界著名學(xué)府。
2001 年 5 月起辭去新加坡國立大學(xué)職務(wù)，任揚州大學(xué)特聘教授。
2001 年 9 月被南京大學(xué)聘為客座教授，并任南京大學(xué)兼職博士生導(dǎo)師。
研究方向
主要從事度量幾何、辛幾何和非線性發(fā)展方程的研究。
主要貢獻(xiàn)
與梅加強等合作給出了 R (n>= 3) 極小體積為零的詳細(xì)證明。
系統(tǒng)地研究了閉流形的微分同胚群與保體積微分同胚群之間的關(guān)系, 對著名的 J. Morse 定理給出了另一種證明; 并研究了辛流形上的廣義 Calabi-Yau 方程。
給出了 Floer 同調(diào)的正合序列定理;
與北京大學(xué)丁偉岳, 中科院王友德合作研究了 Schrödinger flow, 深入地 研究了取值于 Hermite 對稱空間的廣義 Heisenberg 模型和相伴于緊 Hermite 李代數(shù)的三次非線性 Schrödinger 方程, 給出了兩者之間的一一對應(yīng), 并由此構(gòu)造了具體的周期解. 還證明了 Schrödinger 流的整體解的存在性。
系統(tǒng)深入地研究了 Yang-Mills 場及其方程, 探討了 R 上經(jīng)典 Yang-Mills 場的�？臻g幾何, 為 Yang-Mills 方程構(gòu)造了無窮多個非極小解, 亦即為不穩(wěn)定 Yang-Mills 方程構(gòu)造了無窮多個非極小解, 亦即為不穩(wěn)定 Yang-Mills 場建立了存在性定理, 此結(jié)果被收入美國大學(xué)物理專業(yè)研究生教科書。
