南京大學(xué)物理系教授，博士生導(dǎo)師。
1962 － 1968 年學(xué)習(xí)于北京大學(xué)物理系， 1978 － 1983 年為南京大學(xué)物理系研究生， 1982 年獲理學(xué)碩士學(xué)位， 1983 年獲理學(xué)博士學(xué)位，后留校工作�，F(xiàn)為南京大學(xué)物理系教授，博士生導(dǎo)師。
1988 年、 1990 年、 1994 年、 1995 年、 1996 年、 1998 年和 2001 年曾分別赴英國(guó)劍橋大學(xué)、美國(guó)休士頓大學(xué)和希臘 Crete 研究中心、英國(guó) Lancaster 大學(xué)等處進(jìn)行短期的科研合作。
從八十年代初起開(kāi)始進(jìn)行超晶格和人工調(diào)制結(jié)構(gòu)的理論研究工作，從八十年代中期起即開(kāi)始進(jìn)行低維系統(tǒng)和無(wú)序系統(tǒng)的理論研究工作。 1995 年以來(lái)主持國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金項(xiàng)目。
迄今為止 , 在國(guó)內(nèi)外核心學(xué)術(shù)刊物上發(fā)表有關(guān)的學(xué)術(shù)論文 106 篇。所發(fā)表的有關(guān)學(xué)術(shù)論文也曾多次為 Physical Review Letters 和 Physical Review B 等雜志所引用。所參加的項(xiàng)目《金屬超晶格理論研究》獲得 1988 年國(guó)家自然科學(xué)四等獎(jiǎng)，并同時(shí)獲得國(guó)家教委科技進(jìn)步二等獎(jiǎng)；所主持的項(xiàng)目《人工調(diào)制的無(wú)序及非周期結(jié)構(gòu)的理論研究》獲得 1997 年國(guó)家教委科技進(jìn)步三等獎(jiǎng)；所主持的項(xiàng)目《納米結(jié)構(gòu)的量子干涉效應(yīng)和電子輸運(yùn)性質(zhì)的研究》獲得 2001 年中國(guó)高�？萍歼M(jìn)步二等獎(jiǎng)。 1991 年被國(guó)家教委和國(guó)務(wù)院學(xué)位委員會(huì)表彰為《有突出貢獻(xiàn)的中 國(guó) 博士》。
