美國(guó)歌手史琪特·戴維絲（Skeeter Davis） 史琪特·戴維絲(1931年12月30日——2004年9月19日)，原名瑪麗·弗朗西絲·佩尼克(Mary Frances Penick)，是美國(guó)著名的女鄉(xiāng)村音樂歌手，她最著名的金曲是1963年的"The End of the World"。 史琪特出生在肯塔基州干嶺市（Dry Ridge），是家中七個(gè)子女中的長(zhǎng)女。早年和貝蒂·杰克·戴維絲（Betty Jack Davis）組成戴維絲姐妹樂隊(duì)（The Davis Sisters）。1953年8月2日，貝蒂·杰克·戴維絲車禍去世后，史琪特·戴維絲走上了她個(gè)人的演唱道路。史琪特·戴維絲一生共獲得過(guò)5次格林美提名，并在1964，1965，1967和1972年4次榮獲格萊美鄉(xiāng)村最佳女歌手大獎(jiǎng)。2004年9月19日史琪特·戴維絲因乳腺癌在納什維爾去世，享年72歲。 史琪特·戴維絲1963年演唱的的《the end of the world》（世界末日）被評(píng)為當(dāng)年最受歡迎的歌曲，被無(wú)數(shù)人翻唱過(guò)，但無(wú)人能及她原唱的魅力，這首歌也是她唯一的傳世之作。2009年的電影《美國(guó)情事》選擇《the end of the world》作為片尾曲，直抵人心的傷感 。 《The End Of The World》 Why does the sun go on shining? / 太陽(yáng)為何依然照耀 Why does the sea rush to shore? / 海浪為何拍打著巖岸 Don’t they know it’s the end of the world? / 難道它們不知道這是世界末日 ’Cause you don’t love me anymore / 因?yàn)槟悴辉賽畚伊?
