1993年獲得南京航空航天大學(xué)工學(xué)學(xué)士學(xué)位，1996年和1999年分別獲得中國科學(xué)院計算技術(shù)研究所碩士學(xué)位和博士學(xué)位，隨后進入加拿大University of Alberta繼續(xù)深造，于2005年獲得加拿大University of Alberta博士學(xué)位。

朱廷劭博士的研究工作涉及機器學(xué)習(xí)、漢語文語轉(zhuǎn)換以及網(wǎng)絡(luò)行為心理研究等多個領(lǐng)域，并取得創(chuàng)新性成果。他首次提出利用數(shù)據(jù)挖掘進行漢語韻律規(guī)則的學(xué)習(xí)，并應(yīng)用于漢語兩字詞和句子的韻律規(guī)則學(xué)習(xí)，取得較好的學(xué)習(xí)效果。他提出的利用機器學(xué)習(xí)的方法訓(xùn)練用戶的瀏覽行為模型，有關(guān)的論文獲得第九屆國際用戶模型大會的最佳學(xué)生論文。他開展的網(wǎng)絡(luò)行為心理研究，從網(wǎng)絡(luò)行為的分析實現(xiàn)對用戶人格、心理健康以及社會態(tài)度的感知，并在此基礎(chǔ)上實現(xiàn)群體心理的預(yù)警預(yù)報和有效干預(yù)。到目前為止，朱廷劭博士在國內(nèi)外權(quán)威雜志和知名國際會議發(fā)表論文已發(fā)表學(xué)術(shù)論文50余篇。

新浪微博應(yīng)用，為用戶提供科學(xué)的心理評估服務(wù)，方便用戶深入了解自身的內(nèi)心世界。其中收錄的心理評估量表均為專業(yè)性心理測評工具，其經(jīng)過了專業(yè)科研人員的修訂和檢測，具備著較好的測量效果，在心理學(xué)專業(yè)內(nèi)享有較高聲譽。特別適合于非專業(yè)心理學(xué)愛好者使用。

人人網(wǎng)應(yīng)用，依托心理學(xué)知識原理，結(jié)合現(xiàn)代信息科學(xué)的技術(shù)成果，根據(jù)用戶在人人網(wǎng)上的網(wǎng)絡(luò)行為，預(yù)測用戶五型人格得分的應(yīng)用。

一個基于IE的瀏覽器，可以根據(jù)對用戶的瀏覽行為分析，預(yù)測用戶的意圖及心理健康狀況，并給出相關(guān)的推薦建議。

利用認知行為療法，提供針對抑郁和焦慮的自助調(diào)節(jié)服務(wù)，幫助用戶提高對歪曲認知的識別和矯正的能力，從而改善心理健康水平。

A Goal-Directed Complete-Web Recommender System”, 一個網(wǎng)絡(luò)推薦系統(tǒng)，WebIC根據(jù)用戶的瀏覽歷史，利用訓(xùn)練得到的用戶模型預(yù)測用戶的意圖，并驅(qū)動搜索引擎以得到與用戶意愿最相關(guān)的信息。在為期一個月的用戶試驗中，用戶評價72%的推薦網(wǎng)頁是與他們搜索意愿相關(guān)并且有用的。

基于數(shù)據(jù)挖掘的語音合成系統(tǒng)

一個基于數(shù)據(jù)挖掘的普通話文語轉(zhuǎn)換系統(tǒng)。DMTalker中的文語轉(zhuǎn)換部分以TD-PSOLA為基礎(chǔ)，以漢語單音節(jié)為合成單元，使用由數(shù)據(jù)挖掘得到的韻律規(guī)則，將漢語文本轉(zhuǎn)換成漢語語音輸出。
