年輕時的理查德·耶茨
理查德·耶茨（Richard Yates，1926年2月3日-1992年11月7日），美國小說家，被文學(xué)史長期不公正對待的大師，被遺忘的最優(yōu)秀的美國作家。耶茨出生于紐約州揚(yáng)克斯市，一生落魄不堪，煙鬼兼酒鬼，一生共著有長篇小說7部，短篇小說集2部。1961年，其極富盛名的處女作《革命之路》（Revolutionary Road）發(fā)表，引起轟動，與《第22條軍規(guī)》、《看電影的人》一同入圍美國國家圖書獎。其首部短篇小說集《十一種孤獨(dú)》（Eleven Kinds of Loneliness）于次年出版，被評論界譽(yù)為“紐約的《都柏林人》”。他后來接連創(chuàng)作了長篇小說《擾亂和平》（Disturbing the Peace，1975）、《復(fù)活節(jié)游行》（The Easter Parade，1976）、《好學(xué)�！罚ˋ Good School，1978）、《年輕的心在哭泣》（Young Hearts Crying，1984）、《冷泉港》（Cold Spring Harbor，1986）等。耶茨有“作家中的作家”之稱，藝術(shù)風(fēng)格影響了雷蒙德·卡佛、安德烈·杜波依斯等文學(xué)大家。美國很多作家都對耶茨贊譽(yù)有加，如著名黑色幽默作家科爾特·馮內(nèi)古特。
