The Hampdens是一個現(xiàn)代的澳大利亞獨立（indie）樂隊，因他們文學性的歌詞而出名。原本在西澳大利亞的佩斯（Perth）組建，但回來以Melboune為樂隊的基地。樂隊的名字來自于唐娜·塔特（Donna Tartt）的處女作小說《校園秘史（The Secret History）》。小說中提到過漢普登大學（Hampden College）。書中講述一群大學生被卷入了一場異教徒的禮拜。樂隊由Susannah Legge (vocals)、Gavin Crawcour (guitar/bass)、Jules Hewitt (keys)組成，2002年創(chuàng)建于西澳洲珀斯（Perth, Western Australia），現(xiàn)在常駐墨爾本。

　　The Hampdens曾與Ben Lee, Evermore, John Mayer, Ray LaMontagne, Thirsty Merc, Sarah Harmer, george, Rob Thomas, Missy Higgins等藝人表演過。2003年8月，他們獨立發(fā)表了首張EP《Brightness Falls》，在兩周內(nèi)就賣光了第1批唱片。2004年5月，SONY公司發(fā)行了他們第2張EP《Even World》。2005年8月，由獨立廠牌Rubber Records發(fā)行了第3張EP《So Young It Hurts》

　　2008年5月，The Hampdens發(fā)表了首張專輯《The Last Party》。
