樂(lè)隊(duì)簡(jiǎn)介
The Hampdens是一個(gè)現(xiàn)代的澳大利亞獨(dú)立（indie）樂(lè)隊(duì)，因他們文學(xué)性的歌詞而出名。原本在西澳大利亞的佩斯（Perth）組建，但回來(lái)以Melboune為樂(lè)隊(duì)的基地。樂(lè)隊(duì)的名字來(lái)自于唐娜·塔特（Donna Tartt）的處女作小說(shuō)《校園秘史（The Secret History）》。小說(shuō)中提到過(guò)漢普登大學(xué)（Hampden College）。書(shū)中講述一群大學(xué)生被卷入了一場(chǎng)異教徒的禮拜。樂(lè)隊(duì)由Susannah Legge (vocals)、Gavin Crawcour (guitar/bass)、Jules Hewitt (keys)組成，2002年創(chuàng)建于西澳洲珀斯（Perth, Western Australia），現(xiàn)在常駐墨爾本。
The Hampdens曾與Ben Lee, Evermore, John Mayer, Ray LaMontagne, Thirsty Merc, Sarah Harmer, george, Rob Thomas, Missy Higgins等藝人表演過(guò)。2003年8月，他們獨(dú)立發(fā)表了首張EP《Brightness Falls》，在兩周內(nèi)就賣光了第1批唱片。2004年5月，SONY公司發(fā)行了他們第2張EP《Even World》。2005年8月，由獨(dú)立廠牌Rubber Records發(fā)行了第3張EP《So Young It Hurts》
2008年5月，The Hampdens發(fā)表了首張專輯《The Last Party》。
The Hampdens music is about absence, loss, disillusionment,nuclear anxiety, unreachable glamour, burnt out Sundays, and life as a social suicide? but then again it’s also about beauty, youth, hope, re-enchantment, the washed-out dream-like promise of suburbia, falling asleep on the lawn in the
sunshine, a stranger calling your name in the night, and plunging your hands in the warm earth.
