    人物經(jīng)歷
     
    韋伯1948年3月22日生于英國(guó)南肯辛頓的音樂(lè)世家，他從小受到音樂(lè)熏陶，7歲開始作曲，姨媽帶領(lǐng)他進(jìn)入劇院，令他領(lǐng)略了舞臺(tái)的魅力，11歲時(shí)韋伯用積木和紙板蓋了一個(gè)玩具劇院，而他為這個(gè)玩具劇院譜寫的作品，后來(lái)還曾用在音樂(lè)劇《愛的觀點(diǎn)》中。
    他在16歲時(shí)獲得牛津大學(xué)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，翌年入該校莫德蓮學(xué)院，但只讀了一年即輟學(xué)。19歲進(jìn)入皇家音樂(lè)學(xué)院學(xué)習(xí)管弦樂(lè)編曲，能夠熟練的演奏鋼琴、小提琴、圓號(hào)等樂(lè)器。在牛津大學(xué)讀書期間，他時(shí)常和法律系學(xué)生，后來(lái)成為詞作家的蒂姆·萊斯一同寫詞作曲。
    1967年韋伯和萊斯取材《圣經(jīng)》創(chuàng)作了音樂(lè)劇《約瑟夫和神奇夢(mèng)幻彩衣》，1968年在倫敦一所學(xué)校作為業(yè)余演出推出，1972年在全國(guó)性電視節(jié)目中播出。兩人再一次借用圣經(jīng)題材，合寫了《巨星基督》，1971年在紐約上演，獲多項(xiàng)托尼獎(jiǎng)。1973年，該劇被拍成電影。1974年韋伯同喜劇家艾倫·埃克伯恩合作創(chuàng)作了《向吉維斯起誓》。

    韋伯的祖父是優(yōu)秀的男高音，父親是英國(guó)倫敦音樂(lè)專校的校長(zhǎng)、風(fēng)琴演奏家，母親是小提琴家，姨媽是劇院演員，弟弟是大提琴手。
    1972年，韋伯與第一任妻子莎拉·秀吉兒結(jié)婚，育有兩個(gè)孩子，這段婚姻維持了11年，兩人于1983年離婚。1984年，韋伯與他心目中的“月光女神”莎拉·布萊曼結(jié)婚，這段感情十分浪漫卻是最短命的，1990年他們便離婚了。如今守在韋伯身邊的是他的第三任妻子瑪?shù)铝?middot;古登，兩人于1991年結(jié)婚，生了三個(gè)孩子。

    韋伯有極好的古典音樂(lè)修養(yǎng)，大學(xué)時(shí)代衷情象興德密斯、利蓋蒂這樣的現(xiàn)代嚴(yán)肅作曲家。但沒有走艱澀高深一路。雖然熟悉現(xiàn)代作曲方法流派，選擇的卻是通俗的、大眾的形式，但他的音樂(lè)并不因此庸俗。他的旋律動(dòng)聽上口，歌詞明白曉暢。
    韋伯初期的音樂(lè)劇頗類似于“編號(hào)歌劇”，多半是由獨(dú)唱、重唱、合唱等段落組合而成一出戲，例如《星光快車》與《貓》即是非常明顯的例證，并沒有強(qiáng)烈的故事性及戲劇張力。不過(guò)從1981年的《歌聲魅影》后，真正的“戲劇音樂(lè)”焉然確立，甚至模糊掉流行音樂(lè)與古典音樂(lè)的鴻溝，成為真正的跨界音樂(lè)。此后的《愛的觀點(diǎn)》與《日落大道》，更是以流暢的旋律線貫穿整出戲劇，音樂(lè)跟隨故事情節(jié)而走，深刻地表達(dá)劇中人物的悲歡離合。
